How to find The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel
Finding The Old Vicarage From Nottingham (Nottingham Road)
If you are coming from Nottingham to Southwell you will likely find yourself driving on Nottingham Road. If you are on Nottingham Road you will have come through the village of Thurgaton. Not long after you will have passed the Nottingham Trent University campus of Brackenhurst on your right. Once you have passed Brackenhurst carry on until you find yourself in Southwell.
Follow Nottingham Road past The Minster School and Southwell Leisure Centre until you reach a T-junction onto the B6386 (Westgate). Turn left here and carry on this road for half a mile until you see the walled entrance to The Old Vicarage Boutique Wedding Venue on your right.
Finding The Old Vicarage From Nottingham (Oxton Road)
If you are trying to find Norwood Park and have come through the village of Oxton follow these simple instructions. Carry on down Oxton Road (B6386) into Southwell and past Allenby road on your left. The walled entrance to The Old Vicarage Boutique Wedding Venue will be on your left shortly after.
Finding The Old Vicarage from Newark
If you are trying to find Norwood Park and have come from Newark you will have come through Upton and will now be on Upton Road and heading into Southwell. Once in Southwell you will find a BP garage on your left. Pass by this and continue on the road as it turns right, around The Old Coach House and onto Church Street.
Once on Church Street carry on past all the tempting pubs on your right and by the magnificent Minster Cathedral on your left. Eventually, you will find yourself facing the Saracen’s Head Inn at a small roundabout, turn left and continue on Westgate road. The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel will be on your right in just over half a mile.
How many guests can I invite?
The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel offers intimate ceremonies for 50 guests. This number can then be increased in the evening to 80. Do you still need more guests or family at your wedding? Don’t worry. The Old Vicarage will accommodate an additional 10 guests at your ceremony and wedding breakfast at a cost.
What’s the history of the Old Vicarage?
Once a Vicarage to the local Holy Trinity Church from 1847-1946, the building was sold to Nottingham County Council to become a home for old people. This was unfortunately closed in 1999. After six years in disrepair, the Old Vicarage was saved by Suzanne Fitzpatrick in 2005. Suzanne refurbished The Vicarage into the Boutique Hotel wedding venue that it is today
Where can my guests stay the night?
There are 8 stunning bedrooms available. One is of course for the Bride and Groom. The other 7 rooms can hold an additional 14 guests in total. There are a number of places guests can stay overnight in Southwell. Such as The Saracen’s Head, Southwell Retreat Glamping Pods and many more privately hosted rooms on Airbnb and booking.com.
Will we have the place to ourselves?
The Vicarage promises exclusivity of the entire venue from the day before your wedding to ensure your comfort and privacy. Don’t require exclusivity? Then the bride may check-in at 12.30pm on the day of your wedding and the guests at 3pm.
What is the food like?
The Old Vicarage offers an exceptional menu. Their food is far above the quality of most wedding venues. Overnight guests will also be given a breakfast of their choice the morning after the wedding. From personal experience at the Vicarage, we can confirm that the food is delicious!
What are the rooms like at The Old Vicarage Boutique Hotel?
The rooms at the Vicarage are luxuriously decorated to extremely high standards. Each offers a stylish mix of vintage and contemporary decor. There are 8 rooms to choose from in total. They include the bridal suite, which each are a price of £195 for the night. All rooms contain an en-suite, a free view flat-screen television, telephones, hairdryers, an iron and high-speed Wi-Fi. Where will the wedding ceremony be?
There are two locations at the Vicarage where one can tie the knot. Choose to have your ceremony inside the hotel. Surrounded by 3 gorgeous chandeliers and in front of the stunning victorian windows. Or, if the weather is right. You can have your ceremony in the garden, under the Bandstand for an extra cost of £200. If you would prefer a traditional religious ceremony, the stunning Southwell Minster is only a few minutes down the road.
